Patrick
Arnold is a chemist who is responsible for the introduction
of androstenedione to the market as well as other
second and third generation prohormone products.
He is recognized as being unsurpassed in knowledge
regarding prohormones and is regarded as the "father"
of prohormones.
Patrick also is credited for introducing other
well-known supplement products to the marketplace
including chrysin, ipriflavone, and lysophosphatidyl
choline. His expertise is in hormone biochemistry
as it relates to optimal health, performance enhancement,
and muscle building.
Patrick has been somewhat of a megaphone for
the industry, constantly writing articles in popular
fitness publications like Ironman and Muscular Development
as well as online publications such as MESO-Rx and
Muscle Monthly. Patrick’s non-confrontational style
and his straightforward demeanor have fueled a successful
following.
Always supporting the industry, Patrick is also
the President of the Prohormone Research Organization
(PRO), a lobby group assembled from some of the
most influential members in the supplement industry
as well as the anti-aging community. PRO is committed
to providing legislators and government officials
with truthful, scientific information about prohormones
and other dietary supplements.
Patrick currently is president of LPJ Research
Inc., and Illinois company that manufactures bulk
prohormone products as well as other dietary supplement
ingredients. He also heads a private label supplement
company called Ergopharm that specializes in prohormones.
Education
Patrick Arnold received his B.S. in chemistry
from the University of New Haven in 1990. While
working as a synthetic-organic chemist at a major
chemical company, Patrick was enrolled in graduate
courses at Montclair St. University and the University
of Connecticut.
Patrick cut his Ph.D. studies short to pursue
his own business venture, LPJ Research
Accomplishments
Patrick was the first person to introduce the
use of androstenedione for anti-aging and sports
use in the United States. Furthering the research
on prohormones lead Patrick to secure patents for
both 4-androstenediol (Androdiol®) and 19-nor-4-androstenediol
(Norandrodiol®). Patrick has also recently filed
for patents on 1-AD, his new prohormone discovery,
and other upcoming products.
In 1998, the Sporting News selected Patrick as
one of their 100 Most Powerful People in Sports.
